When my friend, Kelly, from Eventology Weddings tweeted about Wish Upon a Wedding, my heart couldn’t stop racing. Wish Upon a Wedding is an non-profit organization that provides weddings to those people with life-threatening illnesses. The idea of sharing many tender moments at a wedding for someone who may not be around for long certainly hit home for me. I was reminded of friends and family, young and old, that I met through my life who were faced with the challenges of sickness and disease. Immediately, I tweeted her back and wanted to jump on board.

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure to work with Houston’s finest vendors at Wish Upon a Wedding’s Houston Chapter Launch Party. I am happy to be a sponsor of such an extraordinary and novel program that grants wishes to those who in need.

To read more about Wish Upon a Wedding, visit their website at http://wishuponawedding.org. You can also find them on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/WishUponaWedding or follow them Twitter via@WishUponWedding. There is also a special Facebook page for Houston vendors and brides to visit at http://www.facebook.com/WishUponaWeddingHouston.

Wish Upon a Wedding is starting new chapters all across America. If there isn’t one in your area, please consider planting a chapter. Also, if you’d like to give and sponsor the organization, you can do so by becoming part of the Wish Granting Team.

I did Aaliyah’s portraits not too long ago and had a pretty hard time narrowing down my favorites. As a result, I separated the photos into two posts: here and here. And to be honest, it was even more challenging to sort the photos for this post! I just had way too many favorites! Aaliyah’s quinceañera had a lot of pretty details and an awesome dance crowd. Thanks to Kelly from Eventology Weddings for referring me to photograph this amazing event!

I loved how connected and close each of Grandpa Chan’s friends and family were to one another. It showed the great intimacy and trust that the people possessed and shared. The reception for Grandpa Chan’s birthday was indeed “grand”. All of his best friends and beloved family members traveled from across the world to celebrate this joyous occasion with him. I was thrilled to have been able to witness and be a part of it. Best wishes to you, Grandpa Chan!
