1. How do I book a session/package for my event?

Please email me at she.takes.photos@gmail.com or fill out a contact form on my website/blog! I will response as soon as possible with pricing, my availability, and details for your session or event.

Following the email, a meeting will be arranged to discuss the best package for your event and to answer any questions you may have about your photography needs. This may also be done through emails or phone.

Once you have chosen a package or booked a date and time for your session, you will need to fill out the contract and mail it to me with your deposit. I cannot reserve a date until I have received the contract and deposit.

2. What is the deposit?

I can send a price list upon request via email.

The deposit for a wedding package is 50% of the final costs. The remaining balance is due no more than two weeks before your reserved date. If you wish to add something to your package after the contract is signed, please contact me so we can arrange an updated payment option.

3. What should I wear and bring to the session?

Wear something you’re comfortable in and accessorize!  Bright, bold colors, and layers also look nice. You can personalize your outfit with something that describes you, i.e. a skateboard, a bouquet of flowers, or a family dog. Just let me know ahead of time, so I can pick the right spots for your session!

Ladies, you can bring a pair of flip flops if you’re wearing heels. For brides, you may want to bring a friend/family member to carry your dress.

Each photo session lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. A bridal and engagement may last up to 2 hours.

4. How do I pick a location?

If you have a location in mind, feel free to make a suggestion when you contact me! When you have decided on your date, time, and ideas for your session, I will pick a location that best fits your style.

5. What if it rains or if I run late or if I need the reschedule the shoot?

Please arrive early if not on-time. Your tardiness will deduct time from your session. You cannot reschedule a session within 48 hours before your booked date.

If the weather looks like it might rain, the photographer will make the calls of whether the shoot will proceed or not. Generally if it’s not pouring rain within an hour of the shoot, we will have the session. The best lighting for photographs is right before the storm!

6. When do I get to see the proofs?

I try my best to have your photos hosted on an online proofing within 6 weeks following your event.

7. What equipment do you use?

I shoot with a Canon 5D and utilize a wide range of Canon professional lenses and flashes. I am prepared with backups for each piece of equipment and plenty of memory cards. For a full gear list, please send me an email.

8. What should I do before/expect on my wedding day?

If you’d like to have a First Look, we will do the portraits prior to the ceremony. If not, please allow 30 to 45 minutes for portraits after the ceremony. I will need a list of photos you’d like along with your complete wedding day schedule two weeks before your event date.

9. What is the First Look?

The First Look is a wedding-day tradition for the bride and groom to view each other for the first time. Typically, a spot will be chosen at your wedding venue for the groom to face one way. The bride will arrive behind the groom and tell him to turn around and see the bride for the first time. We will photograph this brief moment for you and then give you a minute of privacy before resuming with taking photos!

10. What is an After-Session?

An After-Session is a photo session after the wedding with the bride and groom dressed in their wedding attire. On this day, the bride and groom can have fun, relax, and enjoy themselves as newly weds while having photographs taken!
